Christopher Allen Lalley was arrested on October 1, 2020, based on suspicion of Human Trafficking for Commercial Sexual Activity (Victim less than 18). Lalley had been arrested by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. There was a $52,000 dollar bond for Lalley which was later posted the same day by a bondsman. And since has been released on October 3, 2020. He must not have any contact with a minor (persons under the age of 18).
Public records had very little information about Lalley’s arrest. 787.06(3)(G) under the state of Florida is considered a life felony if found guilty. If a person is convicted of a life felony, they will serve the rest of their natural life (or no more than 40 years) in prison without the chance of parole. The category of life felony is reserved for very serious crimes such as murder, rape, treason, human trafficking, or severe child abuse.
The sheriff’s office has stated that they are unable to provide any information or comments about the case due to the state prosecutor’s current investigation and involvement. There are community members in the Tampa Bay area that say they are concerned because people have known about these issues for years and have done nothing about it. “He goes to the Pinellas ASL social, and is known throughout the Deaf community here in Florida,” said an anonymous source.
This is a developing story. Deaf Vee Journal will release updates as information is released.
Update: The Sheriff Department released the arrest report to Deaf Vee Journal. We have released the information in the following article, “Christopher Lalley Update: Human Trafficking.“
